The Klostersatz Ried in Oberloiben lies on the level below the Kellerberg and Schütt sites and consists of eroded primary rock with brown earth and Danube sand. This Veltliner is matured in steel tanks, but remains on the yeast until shortly before filling. Melon, plums, agaves, woodruff on the nose, plus a hint of the exotic and pink pepper, dusty and smoky. A juicy texture on the palate, finely creamy and finely spiced (pepper), green tea and Mirabelle plums, white mineral notes, good acidity for the variety, powerful and elegant on the finish.
In the region of Danube’s‘ river knee the grapes for this wines are growing on well drained sediments like pebbles and augmented sand.
