Limited production wine made only in the best vintages with the selection of very old vineyards.

VINEYARD: It comes from a selection of Tempranillo vineyards mainly from hillside areas, carefully cultivated, more than 50 years-old average age and yields lower than 2.500 kgs per hectare. Goblet pruned vines, with maximum care during the viticulture practices in the plant and the soil, minimizing the health treatments that we have to apply.

WINEMAKING: The plots are harvested at the optimum maturity time. After a strict analytical and tasting control at site, the grape expresses its best qualities. Manual harvesting in boxes of 15 kgs, which is selected at the arrival of the winery where only the bunches with excellent health and maturity are used. After the de-stalked the grapes were not pressed but we used gravity for the elaboration with OVI tanks, without the use of aggressive pumping that could damage the grapes. Total maceration time is around 25 days.

AGEING: 18 months in oak barrels, 90% French and 10% American, racked every 4 months.

VINTAGE: Adequate rainfall during winter and an early but temperate spring weather could portend a very good vintage. Although both spring and summer were dry, the soil reserves were enough to allow an ideal development of the plant’s cycle with good health. Adjusting the yield at the vineyards was a key factor to reach high quality.Finally, although in September there were some rains, they did not affect the health of the plants. We started the harvest September 30th and finished October 21st, getting optimum grapes.
