The Benedictine monks of the Santo Domingo de Silos Monastery are not only dedicated to Gregorian music, an art for which they are known internationally; They have also carried out various botanical and pharmacy studies, since as we know they have been making liqueurs for their own consumption since the 12th century.
Thanks to the guidance of these monks and with raw materials from Santo Domingo de Silos, the Castilian premium gin, Gin Silos, arrives. "Gin Silos has a slight juniper flavor after 4 and a half years of work" as told by its creators Emeterio Martín and José Carlos González. The idea arises from the combination of junipers from the town, the teachings of the monks and the fashion of gin seeking the elaboration of a different flavor with a brand and distinctive for the Burgos town.
Currently, the sale is made only in the province of Burgos, online, and in The Bahamas through Sea Gate Wines. Its production is around 3,500 bottles.
